What are the precautions to take when operating organic fertilizer granulation machines?

2025/12/30

The organic fertilizer granulation machine is the core equipment in organic fertilizer production.  Its proper operation directly affects the efficiency of the organic fertilizer production process, product quality, and operator safety. To ensure stable equipment operation and smooth production, the following precautions must be strictly observed during operation.

Thorough preparation is essential before operation. First, a comprehensive check of the equipment status is necessary. Inspect the transmission device, lubrication system, feed inlet, and discharge outlet of the granulator to ensure there are no loose parts, blockages, or leaks. The lubricating oil level must meet the equipment requirements. Second, verify the raw material parameters, ensuring that the moisture content and particle size of the organic fertilizer raw materials meet the granulation requirements to avoid granulation failure or equipment overload due to excessively dry or wet raw materials. Simultaneously, operators must wear protective equipment such as safety helmets, protective gloves, and non-slip shoes.  Operating the machine without wearing protective equipment is strictly prohibited.
Strict adherence to operating procedures is crucial during operation. When starting the equipment, follow the principle of "no-load start, gradual loading."  Only after the equipment is running smoothly should raw materials be slowly fed in, avoiding excessive instantaneous load that could damage the motor or transmission components. During operation, closely monitor the equipment's operating status, listen to the sounds of the motor and bearings, and observe the granulation effect. If abnormal noise, vibration, or poor granule formation occurs, immediately stop the machine for inspection. Operating with a fault is strictly prohibited. Maintain a uniform and continuous feed of raw materials, preventing material accumulation and blockage of the feed inlet.  Also, strictly prohibit mixing metal, stones, or other hard objects into the raw materials to prevent damage to the granulation mold. Furthermore, operators must remain at their posts and are strictly prohibited from leaving their posts or operating the equipment improperly. Non-operators are not allowed to approach the running equipment.
Proper maintenance is necessary after operation. When shutting down the machine, stop feeding first, and wait until all remaining raw materials are completely discharged before turning off the power. Then, promptly clean the remaining raw materials inside and outside the equipment, especially the granulation chamber and mold, to prevent material caking from affecting subsequent use. Finally, conduct a comprehensive inspection of the equipment, perform lubrication and tightening maintenance, and record the equipment's operating status to provide a basis for future maintenance.
In summary, the operation of organic fertilizer granulation machines must adhere to the principle of "safety first, prevention foremost," and strictly implement all precautions to ensure safe and efficient production and extend the equipment's service life.
