






The vertical disc mixer (also known as a vertical mixer) is a piece of mechanical equipment featuring a vertical disc as its main component; it achieves material mixing through the high-speed turning action of mixing teeth or mixing arms. This equipment is widely used for raw material mixing processes in industries such as organic fertilizers, compound fertilizers, chemicals, mining, and building materials.
The core working principle of the vertical disc mixer lies in the combination of “centrifugal throwing”and “gravity-driven dispersion” Upon startup, the motor drives a high-torque cycloidal pin-wheel reducer, which in turn rotates the main shaft; mixing teeth mounted on the shaft rotate to agitate the material. The main body of the equipment consists of a vertically positioned rotating disc, with sets of lifting blades arranged at specific angles on the disc's base. As the motor drives the disc to rotate at high speed, material entering from the top inlet is instantly lifted to a height by the blades and subsequently falls in a parabolic trajectory under the influence of gravity. During this process, the material particles undergo extensive collision, intermingling, and dispersion, causing raw materials of varying densities and particle sizes to engage in intense relative motion within a three-dimensional space.
Unlike horizontal mixers that rely on forced propulsion via ribbon agitators, the vertical disc mixer utilizes the shearing interaction between the rotating base and fixed mixing teeth. This creates complex vortex motion within the disc, achieving comprehensive mixing through a process of turning and tossing that moves material from bottom to top and from the center outward. The material's residence time within the disc can be precisely controlled by adjusting the disc's rotational speed and the discharge outlet height, enabling a mixing uniformity of over 98%.
